Perfect seaside get away

Myself and my partner recently went for a night away in a seaside town close to where we live. It was our 3 year anniversary, therefore we wanted to do something a little different and special to celebrate.  We are already going abroad later this year so do not have a lot of money to waste, we chose to go to a seaside town as it is warm this time of year and we both love the sea.

We visited Dawlish in Devon as we often pass this beautiful town on the train ride to other destinations and we were not disappointed. This little town is quite literally perfect, I felt like we had walked into something off a postcard you can purchase in souvenir stores.

Arriving we checked into our hotel- which I do want to talk about as it played an important part of making this get away so perfect (In no way is this a sponsored post). I just want to mention the hotel as the service and accommodation was outstanding and I believe it deserves a mention. We stayed in the Blenheim on the seafront on Marine Parade in Dawlish. It is a family run B and B and honestly if you were considering visiting Dawlish I cannot stress how much I recommend this accommodation.

Once we had checked in and the beauty of the town and hotel has sunk in we went looking for something to eat. We found a small local pub and both had a burger with a side of chips which was delicious. We then walked around, go ice cream (salted caramel), strolled along the beach, hiked up a hill to look over the whole town, spent way to much money in the arcade and then looked for somewhere to eat later that night. We found a cute Italian restaurant and demolished two large pizzas as we were hungry after all the excitement of the day.

Overall the whole get away was perfect, we both have large families and busy lives so we often struggle to get time alone to spend quality time together. It was lovely to just get away and switch off from everything I definitely feel refreshed.
